MPS vs Villa, Girard vs Iroquois

2 pretty big games set for tommorow. The winner of the 1st one will be in great position to win the automatic spot for A, and the winner of the 2nd in decent position for AA.

MPS (3-0) vs. Villa (2-0)

Look for Mitchell and Fischer to match up on the mound. Mitchell mathes up a lot better against Villa's lineup than Fischer does. The only 2 big threats for Villa are both left handed, so look for Mitchell to neutralize them. MPS has a couple of good hitting lefties, and are a lot better of a team as it is. They are more fundamentally sound, better hitters, have more pitching depth, and, in my opinion, have the better coaches.

My prediction: MPS in a blowout-9-2, with the game not being as close as the score. Villa gets dominated in every aspect of the game.

Girard (2-2) vs. Iroquois (1-2)

This should be an extremely low scoring game. Morrow will most likely be on the mound for Girard, and Iroquois finally seems to have a little bit of pitching this year. Girard is not a very good hitting team, so that will also help Iroquois' arms. Iroquois bats aren't that much better than Girards, though, and Girard has a more dominating pitcher on the mound than anyone IRQ can throw out there. IRQ has an advatage in the coaching department, but not enough to make up for a lack of hitting. I don't see IRQ scoring more than one run off of Morrow, so if they win they better either shut Girard out or hope this game goes 12 innings again like last year and Morrow needs to be pulled. This should be a very good game.

My prediction: Girard close 2-1

iroq came out hitting right out of the gate. took it to morrow and the jackets. szozorek had a great day at the plate. holmes kept the jackets off balance all game. good win for the braves to jumble up the AA race. NW lost to fairview, so that puts things pretty tight with the braves jackets wildcats and tigers.

Didn't see that coming at all. Szoszorek can't carry that team all year offensively though. Eventually he'll have a bad game.
